Sandra Saayman
Sandra Saayman is senior lecturer (maîtresse de conferences, HDR) in South African Literature and Culture Studies at the University of La Réunion, where she is also a member of the E.A. DIRE (Déplacements, Idéntités, Regards, Écritures http://dire.univ-reunion.fr). She is the author of Breyten Breytenbach. A Monologue in Two Voices (Johannesburg: Fourthwall Books, 2013).
Her research and publications deal with the interplay between text and image in contemporary South African Literature. The representation of African migrants in South African Literature as well as the xenophobia, or “afrophobia”, migrants are faced with in South Africa is a more recent field of interest.
